In its 20th year the Aotearoa NZ Spelling Bee is a free national competition for Year 9 and 10 students sponsored by the Wright Family Foundation.
Congratulations to Vivaan Puri, Lev Roch, Cynthia Yin, Nam Vo, Sam Martin, Zoe Zhu, and Leafaye Fung who have qualified for the semi-finals of this national competition.
This places our students amongst the top 350 spellers from across 99 schools registered for the event across New Zealand.
The next step is the regional event in September and the grand final in Wellington on October 30–31, 2026, where the champion wins $5,000 and a Spelling Bee Trophy!
