Burnside High School students were lucky to experience a NZ defence force helicopter landing at school this term.
Members of the NZ defence force arrived at Burnside to greet students as they gathered to view the landing of an Air Force A109 Helicopter on the school field.
Students from various year levels were invited to watch the helicopter land and were then able to meet with members of the Defence Force to learn about the helicopter and find out about Defence Force careers.
Students and staff also had the opportunity to sit inside the helicopter and many also stayed to watch it depart. This was a fun and informative experience for all involved!
