All students are at school tomorrow: plan carefully as we have roadworks to navigate

Christchurch City Council is replacing water pipes and resealing roads around our school. Metro bus schedules have been amended.

Water pipes are being replaced and roads are also being resurfaced in our area, this includes along our school boundary and the surrounding areas.

There are contractors working on both Memorial Avenue and Greers Road. You will need to take extra care and time getting to Burnside High School. Please plan accordingly.

The best entrance will be Memorial Avenue, but we strongly recommend that students walk, bike or scoot to school to avoid the traffic congestion. The footpaths will be open. We highly recommend that you avoid Greers Road.

Please remember that there is no parking or entry onto school grounds, other than for staff or to use our designated pick up and drop off area accessed from Memorial Ave. Please also respect our neighbours and follow the road code by not parking within a metre of a driveway and avoid stopping or parking on yellow lines. Please do not use the Christ the King School car park.

If you wish to stay updated with the full programme of work that will be taking place across two years in the northwest of the city, you can subscribe to www.ccc.govt.nz/northwest. Queries can also be directed to letstalk@ccc.govt.nz or call 0800 800 169.

Key changes to School Route 791 from Parklands to St Bede’s College, Papanui High School and Burnside High School because of roadworks

  • Route 791 will now terminate and begin on Guildford St
