Our Bel Canto members had a wonderful experience at the Living Springs Camp in early April.
From April 4th to the 5th, the members practised various repertoire, including our Big Sing regional pieces — Tantum Ergo, The Lamb, and Metsa Telegramm.
We focused on refining details, learning new repertoire, and polishing vocal techniques to enhance our healthy singing.
On Friday evening, we enjoyed various social activities such as Guess the Song and Never Have I Ever, which encouraged us to create new memories as a choir.
The beautiful bird calls and natural sights at Living Springs were also a highlight — especially the bellbirds and fantails (including the one that flew into our main rehearsal room!). We also loved the amazing food — a special thanks to Marcus (the red-bearded guy) and the other awesome chef! We hope our members had a great time at camp, learning new techniques and getting to know each other better.
Big thanks to:
-
Our Social Coordinator and Section Leaders for running sectionals,
-
Our Choral Teachers Naomi Hnat and Mrs O’Mahony for coming in to support us, and:
-
Especially our Choral Conductor, Ms Densem, for guiding us through repertoire and re-energizing us when we needed it!
A big thank you to all our Bel Canto members for giving it their all throughout the camp, and to the Burnside High School Music Faculty and the Living Springs staff for making this incredible experience possible!
We wish Bel Canto another great, fulfilling year — let’s work hard towards The Big Sing!
