The New Zealand Choral Federation (NZCF) is this country’s largest choral network, committed to promoting the performance, creation, and enjoyment of choral music for all. Each year they run the Big Sing Secondary Schools Choral Festival.
The Canterbury – West Coast Choral Showcase was held last weekend at the the Christchurch Town Hall and our choirs were in full voice.
Four of our five choirs: Bel Canto, Magna Voce, Creui Chori and Aurora Voices competed with distinction on the night.
Several regional award were given out at the Gala Performance and our very best congratulations go to Aurora Voices who won Outstanding Recital Performance by a Junior Choir and Bel Canto who took home the Cecilian Singers Award for Outstanding Performance by an Upper Voice Choir.
We now wait until all ten regional competitions have been completed to see if any of our choirs are invited to compete in the Finale or Cadenza events later this year.
