Burnside Success in National Game Jam

October 8, 2025

The 2025 Techquity National Game Jam has just ended and it was another amazing event with major success for some Burnside Teams

Over 150 games were submitted to the game jam throughout the year and the final jam had 87 brilliant entries. Public voting was once again one of the primary methods for finding the best, and nearly 1000 ratings were cast over two weeks of voting.

This year, our guest judges were thoroughly impressed with the quality of the top entries and found it hard to disagree with the majority of the public voting. With some debate, the judges decided on the following special awards:

Best OverallKitchen Chaos

By Hayden Clemence, Ben Blackie and Aine O’Connor

Most PolishedSoul Courier

By Miguel Monreal and Isaac Latimer and Xander Hales

Best GameplayGoblin Path

By Sho Wadamori

Best Arcade GameCloud Game

By Rick Wang

Best Use of ThemeThing Deliverer

By Leon Wu

Most accomplishedSons of Delivery

By Olly Kitcheman and Benson Lee

Most ExpansiveBoxes (John Paul College Rotorua)

Well done to all those students and schools and teachers who took part in the game jam and we look forward to running it again next year.
