An allergic reaction can be life-threatening. EpiPens are designed for immediate treatment of a severe allergic reaction, also called anaphylaxis.
People at risk of anaphylaxis, who meet certain eligibility criteria, will be prescribed an EpiPen. Alongside this prescription a detailed action plan will have been prepared with your GP or nurse.
It is important that Burnside High School hold a copy of this information on file for use in an emergency. If we do not hold this information for you, please visit the school health centre and provide or complete a copy of the necessary information for our student records.
