The competition recently featured on SkySport and some of our teams can be seen in this video.

On the weekend I was privileged to be invited by MotorSport NZ to bring a small group of ONLY Burnside High School students (Corey Griffiths, Kyle Griffiths, Johnny Creighton and Isaac Latimer) to see the pathways motor sport can take young students who are learning; Electronics, Programming, Digital Media and Engineering on their path forward.

They looked at the new fossil free fuels being trialled, and saw how important data analysis was and how down to the microsecond video film footage is essential for recording, storing and accessing in real-time.

The students were given a tour by the MotorSport NZ Safety Manager and were allowed right onto the pit lanes, into the actual racing car tents almost immediately before and after the races, and they saw the video editing and time keeping control centers.

We were invited into the Toyota Gazoo Racing hub, and got front row seats for the V8’s and the Castrol Toyota Formula Regional Oceania Championship.
