On Wednesday last week, 104 Year 5-7 students from across the Waimairi-iri Kāhui Ako came to Burnside High School to attend specialist workshops across our faculty areas.
Our amazing specialist staff and several Year 9 and 10 students helped facilitate workshops that were thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
Workshops included: printmaking, learning a dance routine and theatre sports with the Arts Faculty; creative writing with the English Faculty; product design, game design, metal sculptures and designing your own pizza with the Technology Faculty. New Zealand tourism was discussed with the Social Science Faculty; dissections and chemistry experiments were undertaken with the Science Faculty; Desmos and problem solving with the Maths Faculty and practical activities, including a pool session were enjoyed by all with the PE and Health Faculty.
