Christchurch City Council (CCC) has funding available for young people to shape action on climate change. Got a climate idea? This could make it come to life!
Young people (15-24) are encouraged to make a bid to lead a climate change project with funding from CCC. You could get between $1,600 and $8,500 to bring your climate idea to life.
The fund is part of Bloomberg Philantropies’ global Youth Climate Action Fund, which is supporting youth-led climate change initiatives in over 300 cities around the world.
Expressions of interest
If you have a climate idea, you can submit an expression of interest without any commitment to proceed. Free advice and support is available from Council experts and community partners to help you develop your application.
Expressions of interest are open until 31 August 2026, and applications will open between 14 August and 28 September 2026. If you have any questions, email youthclimateactionfund@ccc.govt.nz.
