Our Hip hop Academy dancers performed at the NZCAF Regional Hip Hop Championships over the weekend.
We are incredibly proud to celebrate the success of both of our competing teams, who took on some fierce competition and represented Burnside with energy and determination.
‘151′ Secondary School Mega Crew Champions
‘Defiant’ Secondary School Small Crew Champions
Our 151 Open Crew took out the Secondary School Mega Division, delivering an outstanding performance that showcased the strength, creativity and unity of our 25 dancers in this team across Year 9-13.
Our Defiant Small Crew of senior dancers also came away with the win in the Secondary School Small Crew Division, competing against an incredibly talented field of team.
These results are a wonderful reflection of the dedication and countless hours our dancers have put into their training this year. We are so proud of the way they have worked together, challenged themselves and continued to grow as performers.
A massive thank you must go to our Dance Academy Hip Hop leaders and choreographers, Gloria Oh and Neela Rosengrave, for the time, energy and commitment they have poured into these two teams throughout the year. Their leadership and passion have been instrumental in bringing these dancers together and helping them reach this level.
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to our incredible guest choreographers, Kaia Turner, Yama Dempster-Passang and Chloe Turner, for sharing their expertise and creativity with our dancers. We are so grateful for the knowledge, inspiration and guidance they have brought to our teams.
