With our collection of devoted people, BHS Kpop has successfully accomplished the dastardly task of bringing the joy of Kpop to all at Burnside High School.
Every Monday lunch, we gather at G6 to teach the latest trending Kpop choreographies. Our performance groups, Group Aurora and Group Borealis, have graced the wooden stage at the quad with iconic sound-defying performances of choreography from TXT, Girlset, Aespa and Illit. You may have also caught us dancing at BHS’s annual dance showcase.
At Christchurch’s first ever KROWN Kpop Cover Championship New Zealand, we snatched victories in both the secondary mini division and the secondary small division. Aurora also won a sneaky fan favourite award. Finally we brought a cash prize back to Burnside. Not only did we meet inspiring Kpop dancers from all across Aotearoa, but we also grew as a club. Will we defend the title next year? You bet. With new auditionees in our midst, we shall return next year with a vengeance.

In these calmer times, our thoughts turn to gratitude. We thank our supreme leaders, Elissa, Jael, Cynthia, Caitlin and Tram. We thank our performance groups for getting up early to rehearse. And we cannot thank Mr Espino, Ms Ellis, the staff support prefects and all those who have aided in our rise enough.
