Burnside teams put in a fantastic showing at the Mainland Volleyball Championships at Parakiore Recreation and Sports Centre at the end of February.
Led by our Girls Senior team, who were just pipped at the post for the overall title, our teams competed hard and lived our school values on the court.
Congratulations to the five teams involved and all their supporters, family and staff who contributed to making this a successful competition for Burnside High School.
Our Senior Girls started off in a very tight pool, as they all are, with high achievers Waimea College and Nelson Girls’ High School in their section. Wins saw the team through their quarter and semi finals with a tough final on the cards against Waimea College.
Although they did not come out on top, you can see the grit and determination shown in their performance from the accompanying photos – they sought excellence and achieved. Congratulations on your hard work and effort.
