Each of our divisions has a strong identity and rivalry with their counterparts. Divisional competitions are held throughout the year and the Mitchell Cup is awarded to the leading division at the end of the academic year.
If you support Te Puna Raki North or Te Puna Uru West, this could be your year!
With only two competitions remaining, we can’t yet call the result and who will receive the Mitchell Cup. The outcome of the reading competition (which closes today) and next weeks year nine activity day will determine the ultimate winner!
The Mitchell Cup is named after former teacher and deputy principal, John Mitchell, who served Burnside High School in all manner of ways from 1970 to 2015.
In more recent years, Te Puna Uru West has taken out the trophy with Te Puna Tonga South dominating the five earlier years. It might well be Te Puna Raki North Divisions year!
