Congratulations to alumna, Priya Bartlett, who has just returned from her role in the New Zealand Young Shakespeare Company in London
Priya was one of only eighteen students nationwide that were invited to participate in three weeks of study at Stratford-Upon-Avon and at the Globe Theatre were she performed Beatrice from “Much ado about Nothing” on the Globe stage.
The Globe Theatre is considered to be the home of Shakespeare. Opening in 1997, the theatre remains one of the most unique, remarkable and breathtaking theatrical spaces in London. The theatre is a 360 degree auditorium, with no roof over the central yard – just like Shakespeare’s historic playhouse.
Priya follows in the footsteps of another alumna, Shannon Shi, who took part in the 2025 edition, which shows the depth of our drama community here at Burnside High School.
