Thursday 27 July 2023

It is that time of the year when students need to be thinking about potential pathways and courses for 2024. A key part of course selection is for whānau to have conversations with their children around this.

We are holding a Course Selection Information Evening on Thursday 27th July to enable parents to understand the process and to get some key information around making positive choices to enable students to continue their learning pathways.

The format of the evening is as follows:

Aurora Centre – 6.00 – 6.30 pm

  • Welcome and Introduction

  • Basics of NCEA and University Entrance

  • Key considerations in subject selection

  • Where to get advice

  • Planning ahead for University and other career pathways

  • How to enter subject selections

Faculty Presentations – 6.45 pm – 8.00 pm

Our expert Faculty Heads will be making presentations with key information from their areas.

  • Faculty presentations will be held in I-Block giving information about each of their courses, possible pathways and prerequisites if applicable.

  • There are three sessions of 20 minutes which should also allow for some Q and A at the end.

  • Sessions will be repeated giving the opportunity to visit three Faculties.

Subjects can be selected via our Schoolpoint platform which will open to students on Friday 28 July. The deadline to have these entered is Friday 11 August. Instructions on how to do this will be provided to students by the end of the week in a series on online assemblies.
