Burnside High School offers over forty sports to our students, across a range of different disciplines and grades.
Joining a sports team is a fantastic way to make new friends, learn new skills, follow your passion or try something new. Whether the goal is to win or just have fun, there is definitely something for everyone. Our students compete with distinction locally and nationally. We encourage and support both participation-oriented athletes and elite athletes. We have a dedicated Sports Office who enables our students to access a myriad of sports.

This site provides everything you need to know about sport at Burnside. Here you will find, in detail, the sports offered, costs, season dates, teachers in charge and the uniform requirements – everything you need to know.
Registrations to play for Burnside are also completed via this website. Once competitions are underway, all draw information, with links to playing venues and results can also be located there. The site also includes key dates and school events.
Sporting success
Burnside High School has a proud history of sporting excellence. We have recently unveiled our International Sporting Honours Board in the Hunter Gymnasium where we show respect for those students and staff, past and present, that have attained international recognition in their chosen field.

The Sports Department along with Teachers’ in Charge, coaches, managers and parents all devote time, energy and expertise to ensure that Burnside students have a vast array of opportunities across a myriad of sporting codes to choose from.
