Application Process

Complete an International Student Application

Students must complete an International Student Application form (attach PDF), and scan (international@burnside.school.nz) or post it to the International Student Director, Burnside High School before the deadline date (November 1st). Late applications will not be accepted.

Scholarships will be awarded by the Principal

Scholarships will be awarded by the Principal, with the recommendation of a committee consisting of the International Student Director and Heads of Faculties or Teacher in Charge of Sport.

Scholarship recipients notified

Recipients will be notified via email two weeks after the deadline date. Scholarships are awarded for one year only and the scholarship will be deducted from the recipient’s school fees for that year. (If there are no applicants of suitable calibre for a particular scholarship, then no award will be made that year).

Some notes for successful applicants:

– Scholarship students are expected to contribute to the International Department throughout the year acting as ambassadors for the school and International Department. This may include: translating for new students, showing families around the school, writing blogs or taking photos of their experiences at school etc.

– If the scholarship recipient withdraws from the school, the scholarship will be withdrawn.
