Welcome to Burnside High School.

Burnside High School is one of the largest secondary schools in New Zealand with approximately 2,600 students and 200 staff. This enables it to offer students an exceptional range of courses with specialist teachers and resources. The school values excellence and encourages all students to achieve at the highest possible level. As a result, achievement levels in senior examinations are amongst the highest in the country.

Burnside High School is located in the North West of Christchurch and is fortunate to have large attractive grounds and superb facilities. These include a large purpose built performing arts centre, extensive courts, gymnasium, swimming pool and sports fields, so that students have the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of extra curricula activities.

The school is divided into four Divisions, each with its own Divisional Principal, Deans and Guidance Counsellor, so that students effectively are part of a school of up to 700, where they are known and cared for as individuals.  Burnside High School prides itself in offering students a safe, caring, well disciplined learning environment that promotes consideration for others.
